About the Book Series Name Generator

A series name ties your books together on Amazon, on your covers and in readers' minds. It should signal the genre at a glance and leave room for future books. "The Ember Chronicles" promises epic fantasy; "The Everyday Kitchen Series" promises approachable cooking.

Enter a theme word (a place, object or subject), choose a genre and tone, and the generator returns ten ideas. Fiction ideas use familiar series words such as Saga, Chronicles, Cycle and Trilogy combined with genre vocabulary. Non-fiction ideas focus on collections, guides and handbooks built around your topic.

Leave the theme blank if you are still exploring, and the generator will use genre vocabulary alone. Once you have a favorite, check that it is not already used in your genre, then make sure your first book's title and subtitle work with it using the Book Title Generator.

How It Works

Your genre, theme and tone create a seed, so the same inputs give the same list. Generate more moves to a new seed.

Fiction patterns mix adjectives and nouns typical of your genre with series words (Saga, Chronicles, Legacy, Files, Mysteries). Tone adds words such as Reckoning or Secret.

Non-fiction patterns place your topic inside collection names such as "The [Topic] Series" or "[Topic] Made Simple". Optional AI suggestions, when enabled, are labeled as such.

Example

Fantasy, theme "ember", Dramatic tone

  1. Ideas include "The Ember Chronicles", "The Ember Cycle" and "The Ember Novels".
  2. Genre-only ideas include "The Shattered Storm Cycle", "Dragon Saga" and "Shadow Chronicles".

"The Ember Chronicles" keeps the theme front and center and leaves room for any number of books.

Important Notes

  • Names are generated from patterns and are not checked for existing series, trademarks or brands.
  • Search Amazon and your country's trademark database before using a series name on covers.
  • KDP lets you add a series name and book number during setup; keep the spelling identical for every book.
  • Avoid numbers in the series name itself (such as "Trilogy") if the series might grow beyond three books.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should my series name include the genre?

It helps when the genre word is natural, such as "Mysteries" for a mystery series. Readers browsing a series page can tell instantly what they are getting.

Can I change a series name later?

You can update metadata, but a change affects every book, every cover and any marketing you have done. It is much easier to choose carefully before the first book launches.

What if I only have one book planned?

Choose an open-ended name such as "The Ember Chronicles" rather than "The Ember Trilogy". It costs nothing to leave room for more books.

Do non-fiction books need a series name?

Not always, but a series helps when you publish several related guides, such as a cooking or business collection. It links the books together on Amazon.

Why do some ideas not use my theme word?

Some patterns use genre vocabulary on purpose to give you alternatives. If you want only theme-based names, look for those ideas or press Generate more.
